2015 – The Hospital

In the mail I received a check written out to me for $21.70 from a local hospital. In the memo it stated ‘refund’. Knowing I haven’t been to the hospital, I called the billing office.

The woman proceeds to tell me that a payment was made on ‘my’ account in cash. She transfers me to the desk of the woman who accepted the payment.

This lady tells me that ‘I’ came in person and paid a $2200 bill from 5 years ago. There was a $21.70 adjustment and I was mailed a check for the overage amount.

5 years prior, I did have an ER visit for a broken arm (no insurance) and the bill had moved over into collections. I simply said ‘thank you’ and hung up.

A few months later I got an email from Credit Karma telling me that the collection had been removed from my credit profile.

  1. So far, it looks like several incidences happened in April and months closer to April. I know you are recounting things from over your lifetime and likely don’t know the actual dates things happened but I was wondering if you have actual dates for some and if most of these things actually happened around the same time but different years….????

Also, I was going to ask if you have blocks of time you can’t account for or it’s possible that you have a “multiple personality” that you don’t know of because that would explain some of the things like “you” paying bills that you are unaware of. But the stories where someone has seen you (uncle, daughter, etc) while you were clearly in the presence of other people that could attest to that would rule that out.

    1. Hi Jen,
So as for April, when I was making these posts for the events that happened so many years ago, the blog won’t just let me pick the year, I have to pick a date as well.

And I just don’t have those specific dates. So instead I chose the correct year (which I am sure of, and just recycled the April date) to keep them in chronological order.

For many years I did question the possibility of multiple personalities. Especially when my children were small.

“Me” paying bills, “me” working at these places overnight…it worried me tremendously because that would mean I’d left my small children overnight, unattended.

But I also knew that wasn’t possible either. And as they’ve gotten older we’ve discussed that. They’ve never been left alone, woken up with me gone, not know where I am, etc.
