I was sitting on my couch in the living room, folding laundry. It’s late, everyone is in bed asleep. I hear what sounds like faint electrical zapping…. This sound was coming from the kitchen area. 

I grab my phone off the coffee table and start recording. 

I’m still on the couch, phone pointing towards the kitchen…the dark doorway leads into the dining room. 

The light in the kitchen is a plant light for my herbs so it shines purple. 

There in the dark open doorway leading into the dining room, I see these fluttery flickering lights. I follow them with the phone. 

These lights start around the top of the doorway and work their way down about midway…and that’s where they just hover around.

But, in that doorway there is a wooden baby/pet gate. It’s just leaned against the doorway, from inside the dining room, to keep my small dog out that room. 

As I follow these fluttering lights downward, I realize that the left side of that baby gate is blocked by something dark. Something dark is in front of the gate, blocking the view of the wooden slats.

Watch again…See the gate slats visible to the right? And see the 1 slat visible on the left? And the dark mass obscuring the ones in between?

Thats when I hit the end button and bolted to my bedroom to wake up my husband. 

The next morning I sent the video to my mom and sister. 

My sister said “oh it’s just a spider web” and my mom said “it’s two bugs mating.”

Okay, maybe. But what about that dark mass obscuring what should be a clear view of the baby gate? 

Then my daughter takes a screenshot of the video, inverts it and brightens it.

Now, I’m well aware that distorted video can sometimes look like things they aren’t…but this still spooks me 5 years later because I don’t have any other logical explanation for what’s standing in front of those slats.
