Today my daughter came over at exactly 12:29pm. She came in through the back door. I was sitting on the couch doing some computer work on my laptop.
She sat on the end of the couch and we chatted while I worked and while she ordered some groceries online for delivery.
We sat there together in the same spot from 12:29 to 12:44pm.
My interior home camera recorded this in parts (motion activated)
From 12:37 to 12:43, there is a 6 min gap in recording. My daughter and I were still on the couch. She was scrolling the Walmart app, adding items to her cart to order a grocery delivery.
The camera only detects motion. And we were just sitting there, existing.
No one got up to go anywhere, hence the video gap. I didn’t get up to go outside. So for those 6 mins while we are sitting there, adding items to her cart, there’s no motion detected.
When she checks out on the app at 12:43, she moves her arm to show me her screen and there’s the 12:43 motion detection.
Here’s the receipt for the Walmart order…at 12:43.
And at 12:43 we are still there….
Done with her order, she left out the back door at 12:45.
I picked up my phone from the couch and saw I had 2 front door notifications from the exterior porch camera at 12:40ish (5 mins prior)
I opened the 1st video which was exactly 1 minute long. There’s nothing there. So I’m thinking probably the leaves.
I open the 2nd recording. Which is a mere 30 seconds after the 1st one.
And there I am!
Outside, on camera from 12:42 until 12:43, while also at the exact same time I am sitting on the couch talking to my daughter and she’s doing her Walmart order.
At this point it’s around 12:48pm and I call my daughter to come back inside, quickly tell her what just happened, and we go out the front door together to look around.
We were sitting on the couch together for 16 minutes. 11 minutes into our couch chat, something started happening outside that we were completely oblivious to.
The front door was open. The curtain in the living room was pulled back. The window was raised. The house was quiet. Yet we saw nothing and heard nothing.
The last time this happened was six years ago in 2018. I didn’t have cameras then. It’s actually what prompted me to get them.
Ironically, back in 2018, that experience was also with the same youngest daughter. She was going on 13 then. Shes 18 now.
I haven’t collected my thoughts about this yet. I don’t know what to think or even say. I’m not even sure how to end the blog post.

Just things in my brain….
Left is a screenshot from the “outside me” video. Right is a screenshot of my daughter and I going outside to check it out.
Outside me is wearing white tennis shoes. Inside me, I have on black house slippers because well…I was inside.
Outside me walks different. The stride is different. And appears to weigh less.
Personally, since I know myself and all…outside seems like a younger me. I was mauled by a dog Jan 2023 and I move differently nowadays.
